Trade List
Overview
Trade List provides real-time visibility into individual trades executed for a stock, displaying every buy and sell transaction as it occurs. This powerful feature helps traders understand market activity, trade flow, and momentum by showing the actual transactions taking place in the market.
Trade List for Basic plan is subject to a 15-minute delay, while Pro plan and above receive real-time data. Trade List is available for all subscription tiers, with enhanced features like Trade Drill Down available exclusively for Elite plan subscribers.
Understanding Trade List
What is Trade List?
Trade List shows you every individual trade that has been executed for a stock, including:
- Time of the trade execution
- Price at which the trade was executed
- Volume (number of shares) traded
- Trade type (buy or sell based on aggressor side)
- Trading session indicators for special sessions
Subscription Tiers
Trade List access and features vary by subscription level:
- Basic Plan: Access to 15 minutes delayed trade list
- Pro Plan: Access to real-time trade list
- Elite Plan: Access to real-time trade list plus Trade Drill Down feature for aggregated trades
Elite subscribers can drill down into trades that aggregate multiple transactions at the same price and time, seeing the individual components of aggregated trades.
Trade List Display
Layout Structure
The Trade List displays trades in a tabular format with the following columns:
Column Headers
-
Time - Timestamp when the trade was executed
-
Price - The price at which the trade was executed
- Color-coded based on trade type:
- Green: Buy trades (aggressor on ask side)
- Red: Sell trades (aggressor on bid side)
- Color-coded based on trade type:
-
Volume - Number of shares traded
- Can be displayed in units or lots (when "Use Lots Size" is enabled)
- 1 lot = 100 units
- Trades with multiple transactions show count in parentheses
- Example:
(5) 10,000indicates 5 transactions totaling 10,000 shares - Color-coded to match trade type (green for buy, red for sell)
Trade Order
Trades are displayed in reverse chronological order:
- Most recent trades appear at the top
- Older trades appear below
- Historical trades can be loaded by scrolling down
Visual Indicators
Trade Type Colors
Each trade row is color-coded to indicate the aggressor side:
- Green: Buy trades (buyer was the aggressor, hitting the ask)
- Red: Sell trades (seller was the aggressor, hitting the bid)
This helps you quickly identify buying or selling pressure in the market.
Live Trade Indicator
Trades marked with an asterisk (*) next to the time are live trades:
- These are real-time trades that have not yet been consolidated
- They appear immediately as they occur
- Will be replaced by the consolidated version once processed
- Hover over the asterisk for more information
- Live Trades will be consolidated every 10 seconds
Trading Session Indicators
Special trading sessions are marked with a purple dot next to the volume:
- Opening Session (OPN1, OPN2): Trades during market opening
- Pre-Closing Session (POC2): Trades during pre-closing period
- Closing Session (CLS2): Trades during market closing
- Trading at Last (TAL2): Trades at the last traded price
Hover over the volume to see the session name in the popup.
Features and Settings
Trade Drill Down (Elite Only)
This feature is exclusive to Elite plan subscribers.
When multiple trades occur at the same price and time, they are aggregated into a single row. Elite users can drill down to see individual transactions:
- Look for trades showing a count in parentheses, e.g.,
(5) 10,000 - Click on the volume cell to open the drill-down popup
- The popup displays a detailed table with individual transactions:
- Time (with seconds precision)
- Price
- Volume of each transaction
- All individual trades maintain the same color coding as the parent trade
Use Case: Understanding large trades by seeing if they were executed as multiple smaller orders or as single large blocks.
Use Lots Size
Switch between displaying volumes in units or lots:
- Navigate to Settings (click the settings icon in the navigation bar)
- Check or uncheck "Use Lots Size (1 Lot = 100 units)"
- When enabled, all volumes are divided by 100
- Applies to both the Trade List display and drill-down tables
Example:
- Volume in units: 10,000 shares
- Volume in lots: 100 lots (10,000 ÷ 100)
How to Read Trade List
-
Identify Trade Direction
- Green trades indicate buying pressure (buyers hitting the ask)
- Red trades indicate selling pressure (sellers hitting the bid)
- More consecutive green trades suggest upward momentum
- More consecutive red trades suggest downward momentum
-
Monitor Trade Size
- Large volumes may indicate institutional activity
- Small volumes typically represent retail traders
- Check for trades with multiple transactions (shown in parentheses)
- Consistent large trades may signal accumulation or distribution
-
Observe Trading Pace
- Rapid succession of trades indicates high activity
- Sparse trades suggest lower liquidity
- Time gaps between trades show trading frequency

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What's the difference between Trade List and Market Depth?
A: Trade List shows executed trades (transactions that have already occurred), while Market Depth shows pending orders (bids and asks waiting to be executed). Trade List tells you what happened, Market Depth tells you what might happen next.
Q: Why does a trade show a number in parentheses?
A: The number in parentheses indicates multiple transactions were aggregated into a single row. For example, (5) 10,000 means 5 separate transactions totaling 10,000 shares occurred at the same price and time. Elite users can click to see the breakdown.
Q: What does the asterisk (*) next to the time mean?
A: The asterisk (*) indicates a live trade that has been received in real-time but not yet consolidated by Trade Wizard. These trades appear immediately but may be updated once official consolidation occurs.
Q: How do I know if a trade is a buy or sell?
A: Trade color indicates the aggressor side:
- Green: Buy trade (buyer was aggressive, hitting the ask price)
- Red: Sell trade (seller was aggressive, hitting the bid price)
This shows which side initiated the trade, indicating market pressure direction.
Q: What does the purple dot mean?
A: A purple dot next to the volume indicates the trade occurred during a special trading session (opening, closing, pre-closing, or trading at last). Hover over the volume to see which session.
Q: Can I see trades from earlier in the day?
A: Yes, scroll down in the Trade List to automatically load historical trades from earlier in the trading session. The list uses infinite scroll to continuously load older data as you scroll.
Q: Why can't I drill down into all trades?
A: Trade drill-down requires two conditions:
- You must be an Elite subscriber
- The trade must be aggregated (showing a count in parentheses)
Single transactions cannot be drilled down further as they are already at the most detailed level.
You can toggle between these displays in Settings. Lots are commonly used in markets where shares trade in standard bundles.
